SCPOAI Service Opportunities

When I got busy I got better!

Carrying the message to the compulsive overeater who still suffers is the basic purpose of our Fellowship; therefore, it is the most fundamental form of service. 

All OA members are encouraged to attend SCPOAI meetings.

The following service positions for SCPOAI are in need of your service:

Intergroup Representative

An Intergroup rep comes to the SCPOAI meeting and takes information and materials back to their OA meeting. This is a good way to find out what SCPOAI is about. (See your meeting for abstinence requirements)

Ways & Means Committee

The purpose of the Ways and Means Committee is to raise funds for SCPOAI. Committee members decide on goals and conduct activities as they see fit.

Newsletter Editor

The newsletter editor is responsible for collecting articles from OA members and creating the “Calling.” (See responsibilities in Policy Manual in the SCPOAI Documents TAB)

Website Committee

The website committee maintains the SCPOAI website. (See responsibilities in Policy Manual in the SCPOAI Documents TAB)

Outreach Committee

The outreach committee reaches out to the community to spread the OA message. (See responsibilities in Policy Manual in the SCPOAI Documents TAB)

Twelfth Step Within Committee

The twelfth step within committee is responsible for various communication lists.  If you would like to become a speaker contact the twelfth step within committee.  If your group is interested in obtaining a speaker this committee can provide you with a list. Twelfth Step Committee

The twelfth step committee greets intergroup representatives who attend intergroup meetings. (See responsibilities in Policy Manual in the SCPOAI Documents TAB)

Life Line Committee

This committee encourages the subscription of Life Line to groups in the intergroup. (See responsibilities in Policy Manual in the SCPOAI Documents TAB)

Literature Committee

The literature committee maintains literature inventory for various intergroup functions. (See responsibilities in Policy Manual in the SCPOAI Documents TAB)

Marathons

Meeting groups are asked to sponsor the various marathons that are held throughout the calendar year. (See responsibilities in Policy Manual in the SCPOAI Documents TAB)

Retreat Committee

The retreat committee plans the annual SCPOAI retreat. (See responsibilities in Policy Manual in the SCPOAI Documents TAB)

Region 7 Representatives (4 regular, 2 alternates)

SCPOAI funds delegates to attend the business assembly for Region Seven. Delegates attend conferences, write reports and present to SCPOAI.

World Conference Delegate

SCPOAI funds delegates to attend the business assembly for World Service. Delegates attend conferences, write reports and present to SCPOAI.
